Jewish Students Find Community on Michigan Campuses
thejewishnews.com,Wednesday, May 27, 2026
Rabbi Alter Goldstein of the Chabad House of Ann Arbor says the climate on campus comes and goes, with some days more intense than others for Jewish students. “But yet at the same time, we’re a ship that’s sailing and we know our destination, and, therefore, are there big waves in the middle? There are different things, but this year has been a tremendous year, very well-attended, many programs,” he says. “The feeling of the Jewish kids on campus is that there’s a certain sense of unknown, yet at the same time they want to be part of something more Jewish, and Chabad has grown tremendously.”
No lines, no stigma: Chabad kitchens deliver kosher meals home worldwide
ynetglobal,Wednesday, May 27, 2026

Founded by Chabad’s global headquarters in memory of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, who led the movement’s worldwide network of emissaries and died about two years ago, the project has quickly expanded to dozens of cities worldwide. Chabad’s central headquarters in New York provides local Chabad houses around the world with a ready-made operating kit: uniform branding, recipe books, digital systems for managing volunteers and websites for registration. From that point on, the project is run by the local community.

Standing by a grave with no name, Chabad Rabbi Mendel Super is searching for answers. "Almost 40 years later, she doesn’t have a name," Super said. What we know: In 1989, homicide investigators found the woman’s decomposed body. The initial autopsy estimated she was between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and 115 pounds. New renderings show what she may have looked like, but much remains unknown. "I’ve been in strong contact with Investigator Miller with the Sheriff’s Office," Super said. "I’ve run different leads by her- leads that come in to me I’ve passed to her."

A new book, Conversations With My Rabbi, captures the human toll of the Bondi massacre, up close and in an unforgettable way. The conversations are between the joint authors, Nikki Goldstein and Eli Schlanger, the beloved “rough diamond” Bondi rabbi who served the local Jewish community and was one of 15 men, women and children gunned down dead in December, in our worst terrorist attack. Eli organised the Chanukah by the Sea event. His wife, Chaya, hit by shrapnel, shielded their youngest child as her husband died.
